Pros: Well maintained, very clean, friendly hosts, spacious sites
Cons: Few activities, swimming and hiking far away in state park.

This campground is located downstream of a dam on the middle fork of the Ky River.Choose a campsite on the river instead of the creek, see maps.It is a small campground, very well taken care of.Secured nightly with the host couple in residence and two sodium lights in the central area. The host is also the contractor who does the landscaping and clean up work. The new playground is great, clean and raked daily. The dam area is interesting to look at, with its own boat launch. One very short nature trail is in the campground.Activities are boating on the lake and river. The limits would be things to do.We were there en route from another place.Approaching it from the east on 28 (Hazard) will raise your blood pressure and then some.Take the other recommended route on the website using 11.There is a nearby real general store called Sparks. The owner is a delightful person.Ask him about the log church across the street.Nearest diesel fuel and modern groceries are in Booneville.Laundry is two washers and dryers perfect for the size of the campground. The hosts were outstanding and gracious.Low rating is that there is not much to do in terms of activities unless you have a boat.Great stopover.
