A great park for fishing, beach combing, and touring the small towns nearby. Harrisville is a lovely small town with restaurants and tourist shops. A paved trail leads to the Harrisville streets, so it is accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, etc. The harbor is famous with fishermen.
Most sites have some privacy with trees. Reservation system describes campsites (for example level, sandy, unlevel) very accurately.

Pros: Lovely beach, nice little resort town, marina, nice size sites.
Cons: Need reservations, fills up every weekend, limited showers

We stayed here in May 2006 and enjoyed it.Harrisville is a lovely small town to visit with an easy paved path between the campground and the streets of the town.Beach campsites would be awesome for an Airstream with the fb layout. There is an IGA within walking distance if you need groceries, restaurants, post office, etc. Downside, if you want a rustic experience, some sites on the northern perimeter can look out at neighborhoods, and train tracks are nearby. On the other hand the beach sites are marvelous if you are prepared to check the reservations for cancellations or get them in early (6 mos in advance). Another drawback was that for the whole campground there were only 4 showers each for men and women.Since we went early in the season we had no problems, but I imagine during the summer its a bit of a wait to get a shower. A small nature trail but the big draw is the beach.Kids will love the playground, its right on the beach.Parents might cringe at the old 1960s metal play equipment. We will come again for sure.A popular campground for fisherman (perch, salmon) and hunters.
