Description: Open from May 01, 2006 to Sep 30, 2006
Campground is located on the shores of Fall Lake. Campground manager is on site. There is direct access to the BWCWA. Average summer temperatures are 60-75 degrees in the daytime. The rainy season is in the early part of the year. Campground opens before walleye fishing opener and closes after bear and moose hunting season. Campground was completely renovated in 2003-05 adding shower/flush toilets, more electric sites, two group sites, 5 pull through sites, playground and hiking trail loop with bird watching platform overlooking marsh. Other facilities provided include boat ramp, canoe rentals, picnic tables, fire grates, tent pad, drinking water, swimming beach and picnic area. Office has limited camping supplies, snacks, firewood and ice. Popular activities include fishing, boating, canoeing, swimming, hiking, biking and sight-seeing. Office has display of artifacts found in geological digs in campground and area. Popular local events are City of Ely's 4th of July fireworks, the Blueberry Arts, Harvest Moon Festival and Blues Festival. The Dorothy Molter Museum, the International Wolf Center and Soudan Mine are some of the "must see" attractions.
Keywords: Both primitive sites with hookups. Great boating canoeing fishing!

Pros: Beautiful Scenery, Solitude, Wildlife, Fishing, Canoeing. Boating
Cons: Insects in season

Stayed there five or six years ago and loved it.  Canoed out to
deserted island and spent day hiking and fishing.  Drove into Ely
and visited Timber Wolf Center.  Many resturants in town and lots
to see.<img src="http://www.airstreamforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" smilieid="4" border="0"><br>

Since then the campground has been redone and&nbsp; is listed as one of 100 best campgrounds in US.<br>
