'68 Caravel New Frame And Sub-floor
|
Description |
After doing a piecemeal floor repair, I noticed that the outriggers were sagging on the streetside. After talking with Paul Mayeaux, I decided to go the route of a new frame, while taking the opportunity to add a grey and fresh water tank under the floor. |

Window Gap
|
Description |
You can see the gap between the window trim and the shell. If you look carefully, you can see insulation (it was falling out at delivery and they snipped it). |

Added A Shelf In The Galley Area
|
Description |
Because the cabinets in my little trailer are Doug fir, I used tight and straight grain Doug fir plywood (with four coats of amber shellac for a good color match) to build a shelf in my tiny galley. To make the attachment to the wall, I used a 32" x 2-1/2" aluminum .030 first screwed into the shelf, and then screwed into the interior skin. A good, rigid attachment. (The upper cabinet above the sink area was my addition; it matches the original upper cabinets.) |

Milestone Two Launch Day
|
Description |
After rebuilding the entire chassis in a shell off, I put her in storage. Saved up money to take her into a shop to finally seal her. All windows are still out as you see. Not all riveted down. Two vents in the roof open to the sky. |
