New Atwood 6 Gallon Gas/electric Water Heater
|
Description |
Pretty easy installation to get it in the hole. It isn't hooked up yet. Still have a ways to go to be ready for that. I bought it off Amazon for a good price, but wasn't really happy with the shipping condition. Flanges were all bent when it arrived because it was just slipped in to a flimsy cardboard box. No padding whatsoever. The exhaust sheet metal was all twisted, but not from the shipping. From the manufacturing. I had to bend all that back in to shape to get the stainless door I had to fit properly. Still, not too difficult. Nothing EVER goes easy when rebuilding an Airstream.... Now I can put the lower wrap moldings on. Slowly but surely! |

Custom Fiberglass/wood Dash View 5
|
Description |
This photo shows the top section of the dashboard inside the vehicle. Although a bit messy, this shot shows the aftermarket AC/Heater mounted where the evaporator unit was (about the same size) and incorporates heater and air-conditioner. It can be set to a specific temperature range. After removing the original heater, fuse panel and everything else down to nothing, I rebuilt the firewall and installed a new fuse panel circuit-board on the right side instead of above the accelerator pedal where it was inaccessible and required much more wire to do the same thing. I had a shop replace the original 1979 454 engine with a newer fuel injected model but was limited by the California DMV as to which model I could use so it is a 1990's model. The computer (ECU) is mounted on the right where the heater was originally located. Also visible, all the new plywood. I have some awesome tools but the angles and cuts were time consuming. |
