Geo Metro *can* tow a camper! Jay's Journette design fits the bill.
|
Description |
A couple of years back on the Airstream discussion lists, I was soundly ridiculed for entertaining ideas of towing a camper with my Geo Metro 4cyl. All cautions considered, I've finally designed a towable camper that is perfect for my 30mpg weekend roadtrips. |

My concurrent project, the Journette
|
Description |
I'm also working on a teardrop trailer in addition to restoring my Airstream trailer. It's a 4x6 platform, but it can house a full-size bed that is 6'6" to 6'8". |

Description |
If you saw my curbside shell only picture, well, I just flipped the shell over so I could photograph the street side. |

Retro-Vintage Modern Art

I was tempted to leave my shell where it was as a cool modern art piece, but had to be satisfied with just making it a photo op. |

Us Airstream enthusiasts always brag about how light our trailers are. Mine's so light, I can hoist it up on my shoulder! |

WHY MEEEEE!!
|
Description |
I thought I'd try to play around with the opportunity by trying different poses to see if I could get one that looked like I was the Incredible Hulk or something. |

one windy night
|
Description |
We had a little extra wind one day and my shell got turned over on it's top. What surprised me is that we'd had much windier days before and it didn't bother the shell at all. |

the chassis cleaned up
|
Description |
Here's where I've finally removed all the old flooring and I've been going over every cross member and taking out the elevator bolts. Every one was rusted, so I basically used a pair of Vise-Grips and rocker-sheared each nut off. |
