Bumper cover
|
Description |
Hard to tell from the pic, but the bumper cover and frame are now painted Dark Pewter. Looks really cool. I made new locks of my own design to keep the lid down, as one of the original black sliding pieces was missing. These can be "locked" but there is no high security of course. I put one on both sides. Very easy to make. The catch side of the lock I had to fabricate. The other side is a few dollar item at a home center. |

LP tank bracket
|
Description |
Closeup of bracket. There is a short piece of pipe welded on the center of that middle keyhole slot to guide it on the threaded rod. It took all of about 45 minutes to fabricate this part. |

LP Tank bracket.
|
Description |
Shot of the custom bracket made out of old bed rails. No modifications to rod or tongue to handle the smaller tanks. When I decide to get new 30lb. tanks, the cross bracket just comes off. Simple as that! I noticed after putting the tanks on that I can use the keyhole slots to put a lock on the tanks. I didn't plan it that way, but it works out pretty well. People steal these things. I lost my freshwater hose to a thief. |

Tanks
|
Description |
To save money up front, I've decided to use 20lb. tanks. 1 from my BBQ, and the other I traded one with an old valve back to Lowe's for a new one. No problem! I designed a bracket that slips on the existing threaded rod to accomodate the smaller tanks without any modifications. |

Bad Axle
|
Description |
This is my front axle. Notice there is almost no angle to the torsion arm. This is with no load on!!! You can see my other axle still installed on my trailer. That one doesn't even look that low. They are both toast. New ones are sitting in the garage waiting for me to finish up a few other necessary repairs before I put them on. |

Belly skin going back in place
|
Description |
It is hard to see what is going on, but I have started to re-attach the belly skin. I am using hex head screws in to the pressure treated lumber, with plastic washers between for added support. This spot is where I am splicing the belly skin back together. It was way too big to manage otherwise and I snipped off a large section. It is really going up there solid, and I have no worries about it coming down... hopefully. :) |
