Critter Prevention - Well, Sort Of..
Critter Prevention - Well, Sort Of..
Description The cutouts for the plumbing, tanks, valves, etc, were allowing critters in to the body of the trailer or at least a good place for them to hide. So, I made gaskets out of shower pan liner (very tough stuff and lasts nearly forever) and fitted them around the valves and such to create a seal from the tank areas below. I cut 1/2" vinyl strips from some old horizontal blinds and screwed them down to hold the gaskets in place. I can easily remove them if necessary. It worked out pretty well. It won't stop chewing critters, but lizards and bugs aren't getting through!

77 Sovereign... Under Construction
77 Sovereign... Under Construction
Description Finally found some time to work on it. In the last few weeks I got on all the lower belt molding, fabricated some covers where the A-frame enters the body, sealed and caulked all the belt moldings, and painted most of the lower wrap. I ran out of paint and it was threatening rain. Soon.

New Atwood 6 Gallon Gas/electric Water Heater
New Atwood 6 Gallon Gas/electric Water Heater
Description Pretty easy installation to get it in the hole. It isn't hooked up yet. Still have a ways to go to be ready for that. I bought it off Amazon for a good price, but wasn't really happy with the shipping condition. Flanges were all bent when it arrived because it was just slipped in to a flimsy cardboard box. No padding whatsoever. The exhaust sheet metal was all twisted, but not from the shipping. From the manufacturing. I had to bend all that back in to shape to get the stainless door I had to fit properly. Still, not too difficult. Nothing EVER goes easy when rebuilding an Airstream.... Now I can put the lower wrap moldings on. Slowly but surely!

Furrion 30 Amp Outlet And Shurflo Water Fill.
Furrion 30 Amp Outlet And Shurflo Water Fill.
Description I decided while I was re-engineering the entire rear end of my trailer, that I would eliminate the cord in the rear compartment and go with a new Furrion 30 amp outlet. I bought a 30' twist lock right angle cord to go with it. It really worked out nicely. All installed and tested. In addition, I put in a Shurflo water fill, with built in pressure regulator and check valve. Might as well do it right! Next comes the water heater and I can finish putting my interior skins on in the bathroom area.

Rear Compartment - Black And Grey Tanks
Rear Compartment - Black And Grey Tanks
Description Finally got around to re-assembling the rear of the Sov. I decided to use a second Tee instead of an elbow off the grey so I could have a clean-out. The little hole in the aluminum plate is so I can run plumbing through there that I will attach in to the side of the small PVC section. Inside the trailer, that will be hooked to an extra 12v water pump I have. With this configuration, I can pump the 16 gallons of grey in to a 50 gallon aux. grey tank I will be installing under the bed. This way I will have roughly 70 gallon grey capacity. The 50 gallon grey under the bed will be plumbed to the kitchen sink, and will have a valve that will dump through to the factory grey. With a secure termination cap on the exit plumbing, I can open the small gray tank valve, turn on the pump, and move the grey water in to the big tank. I will of course test and re-test everything before it is all buttoned up. Next the bumper and hinged cover go on.

A Before Of My Rear End... Well, My Trailer's Rear End
A Before Of My Rear End... Well, My Trailer's Rear End
Description That steel plate was totally rusted away from water being forced against it. Poor design and impossible to get your valve off your tanks if you need to.

Complete Rebuild Of The Rear Of My 77 Sovereign
Complete Rebuild Of The Rear Of My 77 Sovereign
Description The original had the galvanized pan extended all the way to the bumper. That wonderful design forced water against the back steel plate and rusted out the entire rear end. My redesigned rear storage box prevents the water from getting to the steel cross member supporting the tanks. I still need to put some weep holes in with aluminum screening, because water will get in the compartment. It is a slow process putting it all together, but I am pleased with the results. I tucked aluminum flashing up under the trailers skin to prevent water from getting anywhere near the new floor. That will be covered with an aluminum panel to attach the rear hatch cover to.

New Connectors For Blk And Gry Tanks...
New Connectors For Blk And Gry Tanks...
Description Seen here is the dry fit of the new plumbing. Much easier to work with and if I ever have to remove it... as they say in Latin, "Pro Noblem!" I will make a rubber gasket to seal the 1/4" gap around the opening to prevent critters and water from coming in.
