Question 2004 Models

Does anyone know when the 2004 models are coming out? I read an article that there will be 5 lengths of the International.

2004's are out.

Model year changeover comes in May. My trailer was built in April 2001 and was one of the last 2001 units to come off the line.

I read the same thing about 5 lengths for the International ... but can't find any further info.

Also, my local dealer has quite a few '04 models on the lot.

Concerning the 2004 International, I just received an Airstream brochure with all the current models shown, and a 2004 retail price list for, I assume, all models. There are 5 lengths of International CCDs, but no International AS models.

Has the International AS been phased out?

I had read something to that effect. Bad news. What were the five lengths of the CCD?

Check to see if there's a 22' Safari. They've been changing names lately.

2004 Models

The sheet is dated June 13, 2003:

2004 Base Costs:

19' Safari - Bambi
25' Safari
25' Safari - 6 Sleeper
28' Safari - Non-Slide
28' Safari - Slide-Out

16' International CCD - Bambi
19' International CCD - Bambi
22' International CCD
25' International CCD - 6 Sleeper
28' International CCD

The other 8 models are Classics ranging from 25' to 34'.

No mention of the International AS - hence, my inquiry.

In that case, they oughta resurrect the 23 Safari.

Thanks for the info, Hubba.

Hubba,

Can you post the base prices for the Classics if you have them?

Any photos of this unit???

OK. I just could not wait so I talked with Vicky at Airstream about the 19' CCD. The interiror layout of the trailer is the same as the "Safari" Bambi, but has the color scheme(s) and aluminum interior as the 22' and longer CCD's

The price I was given: 19' "Safari" Bambi= $33,203.00

The 19' CCD= $37,793.00

The weight they think is about the same as the regular or "Safari" Bambi, GVWR= 4500(?) tongue= 450#-500#

This trailer is so new that they don't quite have the spec sheet available yet. But they are working on it.

Post check out floor plans safari

Just checked out airstream.com web site. There is a new 22' safari listed . No other information on the web site about it .

So it did change from international AS to Safari and lost the big windows up front.

If the plans are correct there is a huge window on the road side of the trailer.

Very Interesting

If you look at the floorplan on the Airstream site, it is the 22' International AS without the wraparound window. Hard to tell, it looks like the roadside window has been enlarged greatly, but the plan doesn't look quite right since there should be some vertical ribs in the area where they show the big window. Can't tell yet what other changes (bellypan?) may have been made.

So many changes going on!

BTW, the price you paid on that Classic is far better than the 17% on average folks get.

17% discount

Abe,
I just sent the email with lower res pics. I think it was the attachment size that caused it to fail the first time.

Just as with a car, you should expect a discount off the window sticker on a new Airstream. How much you get depends many factors, but the average seems to have been 15-17%
