If I was starting over, I'd look into the Reese steadi flex.
All the good of the Equalizer without the questionable.
It looks like several hitch makers are jumping on the Equal-I-zer bandwagon.

Perhaps I'm not thinking this correctly, but wouldn't 1400# bars stress the welds MORE? No flex, all leverage.

I have 1000# bars and they seem (to a novice) to be darn stiff. I'd hate to have one...
