That would be interesting to know. If so Airstream scrapped a bunch of radiators to go with a custom one, that had to be expensive.

Easier yet if it is a flex plate. Put it in gear with the brakes on the noise will stop, it takes the slop up and no noise.

When you say tick I think valve train. That goes along with over revving. Bent pushrod, broken valve spring or collapsed lifter. If it is a rod you should be able to hear it louder from beneath and...

That is not too bad with a big old MH. I remember barely making it in 2nd gear and watching the black smoke pour out of the exhaust with a 70's 350 pickup, empty.

Brett's trip doesn't sound like...
