I am not an expert, but when I considered welding my old one I was informed the plastic used back in the early 70's would not hold a weld. I did not want to take a chance so I got a new one.

I took mine out and took pictures of it, measured it, Drew it on graph paper and sent it all to Inca Plastics. They made me a new one. I got a great deal. That was a few years ago. I will post...
