As far as cutting the sheet metal, I'd take it to a shop where they can do it with a clean edge. At least very least, they could use a plasma cutter, it leaves a rather smooth edge.

Hey Viking, If you can do the repairs without needing to remove the shell, that'd be the way to go. Besides needing an enclosed shop with a very level floor, it is very difficult getting the shell...
