The blown seals had bathed the brake shoes in grease, for years. I cleaned them up but they barely worked, so I pulled the wheels again after a 100 mile trip to install new shoes.

This time I repacked by hand and didn't pump any more. The seal has two lips and a spring to sit in a seat milled in the spindle, both seals had these lips either broken off or completely ripped off.

Composite floor

Living in Florida now, will order from Boat Outfitters here in Florida. Only a 1.5 hours drive away from me, so can save the shipping. Be glad when I'm done. All of it will get covered up with PERGO...

Shouldn't complain, cutting out a 50 year old front section after "someone" left the roof vent open during a storm. Man what a pain to shear all those fasteners.

I'd vote to wait for that composite subfloor. my 3/4 ply lasted 15 years and now having to deal with it in front of our 71 Caravel. Will bite the bullet and install Coosa bluewater 26. A pain...
