Yes that is the kick down switch. I replaced mine because the trans never seems to downshift by pedal position. Still doesn't work so I manually downshift when going up hills.

Are you going to keep the stock cooling fan? I upgraded to a twin Maradyne unit, love it. More power an a lot less noise. Just a thought. Also what carb are you running?
