Turns out it was a damaged regulator. Champion replaced under warranty. Have since purchased backup regulator for redundancy as well as backup battery. Very happy with Champion service.

Just traveled East to West trip across I40 in New Mexico. Winds were steady at 35-40 MPH from the West. Bambi sport and Tundra 4-WD carved a hole in the wind. Thank goodness for anti sway system....
