Yes I took out side seats and raised area about 5 inches for more storage. We use 2 Thermarest pads which work great. One can walk further back and sit down without having to crawl in.

My understanding is that it's not hooked to anything. It's used for auxiliary current. I run a handicap lift from it but nothing else. Seems to work great.
