Mine had the same problem. I took it back to Jackson Center. The wall to wall carpet did not help either. The took everything out. New sub floor, repared out riggers. All good now.. It took 6 months.

The 1985 has a walk around bed. Not the best use of space. The frontal area is greater and will hold a lot more wind. Weight is not the only factor. 1685 is still on the heavy side for 5000 towing....

Any Cabinet maker can do this... I am entertaining removing a dinette as well, just have to contend with the wheel well . I has nothing to do with the structural integrity of the trailer ..
