carefree awning

I have a '68 tradewind with a carefree awning that need a whole new upper roller assemby as well as one extension arm. Does anybody know where I might be able to get these parts since carefree no longer carries parts for the older units? The roller assembly measures about 13' 8". Any input would be appreciated!

These parts are all available. Google is wonderful.

A link to the source you found would be helpful. I was searching for parts a few years ago for the Carefree awnings over my windows. I couldn't find anyone that sold repair parts. I even called Carefree. They told me that my model of awning was long since discontinued and no parts were available // no dealers were known to have parts. I ended up replacing the entire awning since I could not find parts for my model.

Yes, Carefree is still in business and sold many places; but parts, that can be a different story.

Unfortunately these parts will have to be salvaged. I can tell you the most commonly found parts will be the ones you have, the curved arms and brackets. Do your arms have the top plugs in them or are they open at the top? If you are missing those, I've read they can be fabricated but I've never seen them for sale.

Extension arms are hard to find but I believe you could get a tube and springs from another awning and perhaps make them work. A pair of tube end caps can be bought NOS from a dealer in the southwest. Pictures would help us get you sorted out.

Jason,
I replaced my awning and a few parts 6 mos ago. Sorry but I don't have the links but did see various arms available and some other parts too.
