Bottom Clasps on '68 Overlander

2 of the window clasps / catches on my '68 Overlander succumbed to rust and broke before I bought the trailer recently. These aren't the ones that are attached to the window itself, but are screwed to the bottom of the window opening and grab ahold of those other ones clipped to the actual window when you crank the handle to tightly close the window. I know my description sucked but hopefully it's clear what parts I'm talking about. Does anyone know if replacements are available and if not, any ideas for a work around? It is the spring-metal tongue that is broken. Thanks for any help... I'm in the Pacific Northwest and want to securely close this window in the unlikely event of rain.

Nothing new that I'm aware of. You will have to scrounge up some used ones.

For now, you'll have to scrounge some used parts. VTS is working on making a reproduction. Google Phillips window hardware here to find the thread about it. Call Steve at VTS and give him a nudge too.

Thanks for the responses. I found a guy that has some for $20 each. Seems a little steep but they will get that window shut so I can get to work bringing the trailer back to life.

Just so you know the latch assemblies were selling on eBay a few years ago for much more than $20.00 each! So I guess if you have someone selling them to you for that amount be happy! Ed

Thanks, I appreciate the information. I'm sure there will be plenty more questions as I dig into things. This trailer is in amazing condition for its age; skin is perfect and everything is there including 5 awnings, however it's all been around for 44 years, so I'm prepared to work. I'm very glad that I found this resource.
