'68 Safari 22' twin insulation question
I'm tearing up the floor and found what looks like foam isulation under it. And it looks like it was the kind from a spray can. It is nice and flat where it meets the surface of the plywood floor and looks wavey like water on the bottom on the belly pan side. I'm wondering if this was original to the trailer or if this is the work of a previous owner. Anyone have the answer? Sure is on there good and going to take some time to get off so I can restore. And even little critters managed to dig into that stuff and make some nice little homes. Hickory nuts make a distictive noise when the shop vac eats them.

It's original, or at least our Overlander had it too.

My 67, 68 and 69 all have factory installed foam in the floor.

My 68 Safari 22 has the same foam insulation.

Okay, that is the answer! I can't blame the previous owner! In my diggings, I did find out why the tail lights didn't work: wiring harness was corroded in half by critters remains and deposits. Next step after getting all the insulation off will be wire brushing the frame and Por 15. Thanks for answering my question. Mystery solved!
