Removing window entirely

I am modifying my 1974 Sovereign and want to remove some of the windows as I will need the wall space more. Does anyone know what I can replace the glass with that is black from the outside or can be painted black to still look like a window?

Consider fabricating an aluminum plate to replace the existing window; this won't break and is completely reversible if you change your mind later on.
You can remove the top hinge plate from the glass window and use it on your solid aluminum one. If this window is gently curved, a sheet metal shop can help.

Seems like you could leave the windows intact, and just replace the interior screen with a sheet of aluminum or whatever you wanted. If you wanted it to look black from the outside, slip something black inbetween the glass and (former) screen. I'd be leery of permanently removing ANY windows, because of the work involved and possible loss of re-sale value down the road....just my 2 pesos worth.

Adding a dark tint (film) to the window and installing a panel on the interior would be an easy way to do this.

Why not paint the inside of the glass black and replace the inside screen with a sheet of aluminum?

Cheap, easy and reversible.

Another option might be to leave the window as it is, and replace the inside screen with a sheet of aluminum painted black on the side facing the window.
Even easier.

Thanks all. I think I'll do a limo tint to the inside, insulate and then wall off the window. This should be the least amount of modification and least amount of my time.

Make sure you put new gaskets on the window prior to walling it off as you will not be able to get to them in the future.
