1986 Sovereign - Service Manual & Owners Manual

Hello all! I've been reading posts for some weeks now. Finally, I have something to say.....I live in OH and on June 1, I am flying to Ft. Myers, FL to view and probably purchase my first Airstream, this being a 1986 31' Sovereign. It looks like a dandy and I had Steve Ruth (P&S) check out the 34 pictures posted with the ad and he says it's a good deal at $10500.

Two things: 1. I'm in need of the service and owners manual, and 2. It has a rear double bed that I want to change to twins which I will modify to be a king. I see that someone is selling a brand new set of twin matts for $400 (still in plastic) - good deal or no? Shall I do this modification myself or have P&S do it or Jackson Center (both in my state)?

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE/BUY/USE MY NEW AIRSTREAM! Good bye pop-up camper! WAHOOOOOOO!

It's me again - good news - I called the guy in FL and he has all the books! Yay!

Hope that the deal is good for you and them! We have an '85 25' Sovereign and love it.. You will too. Sent some pics, we would love to see them!

Good luck.

 I am so sad - the guy's brother sold the camper this morning even though he was told it was sold to me. Now I have a ticket to FL and nothing to see (sniff).

Palmtreegirl, is what I assume from your profile correct, do you now own a '92 Excella? :)

It is true - I finally found one - flew to Seattle and purchased trailer and tow vehicle - drove it home 2,801 miles in 8 days, 7 nights - home in my drive way now!

Fate just works well some times...

:D
Look forward to seeing you some day on the road. I hope we can give you a tour of the bullet you missed, even if it is a "shot" we are willing to take. Lots of problems to fix but life is a journey and not a destination... I have learned so much so far. Never a dull moment with an older AS!!!!

Matt

I just bought an 86 25'! Now, I'm looking for manuals

From a similar thread, posed by OTRA15:

Most manuals and historical documents are available on the Airstream site:

https://www.airstream.com/

At the top right, under Company, select Manuals from the drop down menu. Then navigate by year and so forth.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Kelly, did rmkrum's post lead to the correct manual? We had a 1986 25' with a the rear corner bed. Is this what you have?

Lots of good memories!

Happy trails,

Peter
