HELP: shorted out control panel and now no power

OK, this sucks I was just about done working on the AS and my origanal control pannel in the 68 AS shorted.. and melted a wire. then the main battery line coming in shorted as the clip holding the gage fell of and crossed the wires. Now I have no power. There was a fuse in the control panel that I jumped and still no power. The breakers weren't blown but I flipped them.

The converter fuses are fine. and there is no reset switch on it.

I hooked up to shore power and the plugs work and the inverter works.

Now the problem is my fringe doesn't. even on shore power. Is there a fuse in it?

Are there any other fuses.

COuld one of the circuit breaker fuses in the main box have blown and gone bad?

Is this an original or updated fridge? The original one would not need 12 volts, but the newer ones do to run the control board. I would continue to check the fuses. Use a volt meter and find out where you have 12 volts and where you don't. The problem lies between...

Richard's got the fridge stuff covered. It should run on 110v so one of the breakers feeds that.
If you melted the B+ wire to the central control, the wire may have become the fuse. Make sure the fuses in the panel are the correct size so that they melt before the wires. People tend to replace these with whatever is available. If it's similar to my 70 safari, the 12 volt fuses are in the Univolt. One of these should power the central control board and hopefully is blown.
Good luck,
Dean

Sounds like you had a melt down. Check your ground fuse, it may have blown.

Good to know about the fridge, It's a newer one.

A friend of the family is an electrician and is coming to look at it in the morning.

Ok, the fix wasn't bad. where the positive wire came out of the inverter it had blown that part of the board. Just switched it to another fuse and everything works great.

Though I wouldn't been able to figure it out with out the electrician friend..
