stripping paint from original vinyl interior walls

How do you strip old paint from the original vinyl covering on the interior walls? Is there such a stripping product that will take off the paint but won't harm the vinyl underneath? Thank you, Beverly II.

Paint, what paint? What kind of paint is it? Latex, water base or oil base enamel, zolotone....
Who painted it? These are question you need to ask yourself. You would have to be extremely careful with stripper not to damage the underlying vinyl and I'm not sure if you could figure out the timing to do it.
If the paint still has a good bite on the vinyl it would probably be better to just paint over it. I don't know of any stripper that would not harm the vinyl that is why I would recommend a repaint
