How do I find out what brand electric Brakes I have

I have one wheel unassembled need new shoes but dont know who the manufacture of the trailer brakes I have is.

Also do the shoes come with new springs and hardware ?

If not where would I get it that?

Mrcrowley,

You can purchase fully loaded backing plates which include new shoes, springs, magnets and backing plates. Everything that you need just unbolt the old backing plate and bolt on the new. It is slightly more expensive than shoes alone. They are available at Camping World, RV stores, trailer supply and trailer repair stores. The only thing you need to know is the size, probably 12" for you.

If I was at my trailer I could check the bill of sales from A/S.. for the part number..As I recalled, they sold the "complete" brake assembly for abt $89 or so a piece. I realize you just want a part of the unit..You might try calling them for that info..Did you check your owner's maint manual as well???

I've had good luck finding brake parts for my old work trailer at Sanel Auto Parts in Concord , ther is one in Manchester also . Bring the old shoes in with you so they can match them up . If you bring the whole assembly they can probably tell you the manufacturer . Let us know if it works out , I have a '76 also and will need them sooner or later .
