Screen Replacement, Alum or Fibreglass?
From H/Dep I purchased frame rails and a roll of dark grey fibreglass screening. From these parts I made a new screen assembly for the front roof vent that turned out fine. I want to replace all of the screen in all of the windows. Aluminum is there now. Should aluminum be used again or is the darker coloured fibreglass a better choice?

I am going with the dark fiberglass.
It is easier to work with and I like how it looks.
I don't see much of a diff. in durability.

I agree with Rob. I replaced all the screens in my home and used fiberglass. I started the project with aluminum, but it was just too hard to work with and I didn't like the shinny dinish. Fiberglass has a tendency to sag over time, but not bad. Hold it firm (stretch) when you place it in the frame.

I replaced ours (about 6yrs. ago) with aluminum screen. Here in the desert SW the Sun tends to fade and destroy anything of plastic or fiberglass quite rapidly.

The fiber-glass is available in the "aluminum" look.

We used a medium black. Can't see in during the day, but you can't see out at night, which I do not like. I like to see what I am shooting at.
