Hello Everyone

I am a native Montanan. My son (Kevin), wife (Tami) and I(Cal) travel the local Railroad line here, Montana Rail Link, where I have worked for the last seven years. This year I bought our first Airstream. I have seen most of the pictures posted on this site, and I have not seen one that looks anything like it. The previous owner told me that its life began as a moblie medical unit and later was converted to a motor home. It is a 1986 30' (from bumper to bumper) with a 50 amp service. It has the traditional wrap around rear window. It only has two other windows, I'm not sure but they don't look orig. It also has two doors both located on the same side. I'm sorry but I don't currently have a pictures, I'll be taking some soon. Thank you for letting me join your community.

Cal

Well the welcome wagon is slacking up!!!!!!! Must all be out of town for the holidays.

Welcome aboard!

Yes post some pictures. WE LOVE pictures especially of the odd ones like yours. :D

I do not recall seeing a coach with double doors on the side. The funeral coaches and ambulance coaches usually have a side door and a rear door or rear hatch and sometimes a half door for coffin to be loaded. I think yours is going to be pretty unique.

Take a look around the photos. Should find some pictures of custom order units like yours with a little searching.

Welcome, welcome

Welcome to the forums.... I understand that Montana finally got above zero yesterday. My nephew just moved to Bozeman. He is a ski school instructor at one of the resorts. Maybe I'll be seeing you at some point in time.

hi cal

welcome to the forums, how are things is big sky country?

i once was stopped by a montana trooper for going 88mph in my airstream moho while traveling up hill toward big mountain ski area.....i did get a ticket.....5$...for wasteing a natural resource (sort of like a littering fine) but really he stopped me because he want to check out the mods i'd done to get that sort of speed. he was thinkin'bout buying an airstream himself.....

anyway the factory did a few different custom models for business use in those years......the medical units, the dental units, the hearing/screening units, and others.....of course they also did the funeral coaches, like the one glen has here. many of the models started with almost no windows....except for front/rear for driving needs....some had a toilet for the staff.

the moho heads here can be very helpful if you have any issues....

so yours has been made rv worthy...cool.

lets see some photos.....

cheers
2air'
