bonding ground & neutral

I purchased a Firman generator which runs and starts easly. When connected to the EMS I get error code E-9 . I think it has to do with ground. How can I fix this. Firman seems to be no help.

You need a ground-neutral bond. Here's a link to show you how to make this plug.

Hi

When feeding an RV you need to bond the neutral to the ground at the source ( = the generator). You also *should* do something to connect the ground to a "real ground". A spike in the ground is one way to do this, there are other possibilities.

If the generator is feeding a house through the breaker panel, this ground bond is not needed (= don't do it).

You can make yourself a homemade 30 amp Dogbone for your generator with a 30 amp plug, single gang box, cover, and a short 10ga pigtail with a 20amp plug
Wire the 30amp plug just like normal but add a short jumper wire between the ground and the neutral. This will bond the neutral outside the trailer and at the power source like it is inside the panel box/shore power supply.

The simplest is to make a cheater plug.
Take a plain old three prong male plug,
Run a jumper wire from the green ground to the white (silver) neutral.
Then while on generator, just plug that into any unused 120v. outlet on the generator.
