New Model Honda EU2200i

I have been researching generators a bit. Found this today. So if you can wait to buy your Honda...might be a bit better for you. 10% more power.

Like Tim the Tool Man....more power!!!!

My 2000 has been very good

More power is a great upgrade, however Honda's competition is less expensive, reliable and can operate on propane as well as gas. It's time for Honda to up their game. This would have been a home run game changer if they had released this unit with dual fuel capability at a price of $750. Maybe Yamaha will swing for the fence and take the Series, but they seem to be happy with selling their engine to third party manufacturers. Pat

I agree...would have been nice to have them up their game a bit.

Per the local Honda retailer, same price as the EU2000i. He also said that they changed the engine to have a bigger oil capacity. He did not say if it is a totally new engine. They should be available mid March.

For those that want a Honda, and can wait awhile, it sounds like it would be worth it.

Exactly what I want. Will get one converted for propane, with the extra power helping to combat the effects of high altitude. I just need to wait until they are available.

Interesting Electric Generator Depot shows “IN STOCK” but “Ships within 4 to 6 weeks” so mid March it is! Phil says 6 more weeks of winter so no problem getting antsy to get the AS out of storage and go camping here in New Hampshire!!

I agree. Shocked that Champion seems to be the only one in this space willing to do dual fuel. I’ve been on the sidelines waiting for a 2kw propane generator that doesn’t require aftermarket modifications. Remote start capability would be nice too. We all have propane onboard. It seems in the RV market a propane generator would be a no brainer

Who's the third party???

Reference the A-iPower Inverter Generator. Costco sells it. Pat

The new 2200 watt Honda's (standard, Companion, Industrial GFCI) are expected to ship to dealers on March 1.

I did see a new version of the EU2000 @ Quartzsite this year, it had a fuel valve, finally, like the Yamaha does.
The bump in amps wasn't mentioned, I didn't notice the 2200 name change either.

Champion isn’t the only one, they are just the bigger brand of dual fuel generators. You can find good prices on Sportsman 2200 Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generators at HomeDepot and Walmart on occasion, less than $500 if you watch closely. I’m waiting until the season returns to buy one, but seems like a better option than paying Honda prices to just modify it anyway.

I’ve seen the sportsman and am curious about it. Specifically want to know if it will run my 15k Btu ac when on propane... worries about the brand. If it was reliable then after the 10% cut for propane should still be good. Has micro air looked at this one?
