New Basecamp 2017 owner
My husband and I just bought a Basecamp. No previous travel trailer experience, except for camper-trailer experience when he was a kid. We will travel with our Maltese, Chloe. Pulling it with a 2016 Porsche Cayenne, diesel.

Planning a trip up the Northern California and Oregon coast in April, then home to Minnesota.

Enjoy the experience!

Before you go anywhere, you might want to check with Airstream concerning this:

Thanks, Isuzusweet. I did call Airstream and the rep said all 2017 Basecamps were affected. He said it shouldn't be a problem as long as we didn't "overpack." I asked what that meant--he couldn't be specific. I asked about having a full water tank--he said that didn't come into play--it was how much of our own camping stuff we put in the trailer.

So I'm not sure what this means. We aren't planning to have lots of stuff in the trailer itself--most in the back of our tow vehicle. But it makes me uncomfortable with a 3500 mile camping trip between AZ and MN in April.

Okay, don't over pack the trailer; which means keep most of your stuff in the TV. I would try and also run with as little water in the holding tack and fill up once you get to the campground.

Just to make your day I would also look at this thread too. Now agreed none of these issues may affect your trailer but it wouldn't hurt to be knowledgeable about your trailer and possible problems and fixes BEFORE you leave.
