What if this was the new AIRSTREAM Moho?

I've seen this unit up for sale in the past, and thought it would be interesting to sample opinions. Something about the shape, diesel power, air ride, and 120 MPH potential in a moho kind of turns me on.:blush::blush:

I am fairly certain this was posted before in another thread. Cool looking!

Edit -- I can't find the other posting(s).

shouldn't have posted that, it is truly getting my attention! Uh oh.

That was clearly designed by one who had never camped for someone that had special needs.

I was looking at this last night! Our '94 has glass tile on the kitchen and bathroom walls, and marble compass on the bathroom floor. Not my choice, bought it that way from the PO. I wonder about the weight and long term durability. When I saw the counter tops on this one, I thought 'no way would I want to clean that daily' - I agree, not designed by a camper. Beautiful exterior, though!

Certainly a Classic

I agree that the interior was designed and built for someone with "unique" tastes. Apart from the gaudiness however, this is a clear example of what Airstream should have built in 2001. Beautiful flowing lines with gull-wing entry to drivers cockpit, 5.9 turbo Cummins coupled with an Allison automatic with air brake, 7.5 Kw generator to drive a serious ducted air-conditioning system, kneel down access etc. etc.
Instead, Airstream threw in the towel and produced mundane bodied "Land Yachts" and continued to fit them with vintage interiors and mechanicals. such a shame Airstream...pity that Advanced Bus Industries were unable to move beyond this prototype RV based on their TSV-30 chassis. If anyone is interested in trying their hand at a similar project, there are a number of TSV-30 buses for sale. Here is the ad I first saw which listed this prototype at $78,600!

This units were a problem for every operator in the USA. Good idea, not enough testing.

Clkeiser,

Your motorhome has the gloss clear coat too! Yours was for sale the same summer as mine, and I considered it, but the price tag was a turn off. I did like that compass rose though!

CLKIESER 10-04-2016 06:20 PM

Vycan, we are trying to figure out what to do about the clear coat. Some of it is peeling off. We had an estimate of almost $9k to get it stripped, then found out they won't clear coat any more. EPA regulations no longer allow the 'good stuff' to be used. If we strip it, then it's 36' of waxing 2x a year. Yikes!

Interesting that you were looking at this unit at the same time. We couldn't find a comp for pricing comparison. We did get the PO to come down some. Goes to show they are worth what someone is willing to pay!

I love using it, so not complaining. Now if I can just get hubbie to go with me more!!!

So you always have to park facing north?
