A few years ago when we were sorting through and purging all that had belonged to my Dad, his Travelux related documents were tucked away. We then started getting the odd inquiry, as Dad was well known as being the “go to guy” where these trailers were concerned. He and my Mom were Travelux dealers from 1972 until the company closed in 1978. As a kid growing up we were an avid camping family and used a steady stream of different Travelux’s. We would also have a booth at the local sportsman’s show each year and my sister and I were recruited to show these trailers. This turned out to be an interesting idea on Dad’s part as people would come into the trailers to try and stump the two little girls with questions but we had an awful lot about them memorized. Truth be told most people asked the same question anyways. Back then I could rattle off the capacity of the black water tank in a heartbeat! It was such a lot of fun surprising the adults who were trying to stump us.

Not only did we have the trailer sales but Dad was a mechanic and fixed all types of trailers. It seemed like we had every conceivable part for a trailer imaginable. In fact when the Travelux factory closed Dad attended the auction and came home with much of the contents of the factory. All of the parts he had are now gone but the documentation, photos, decals etc. we are happy to share. All of these documents will be in posts to follow.

My next project to include on this link will be an interview with my Mom which will provide information about the company itself.

Dad would love the interest that these superbly crafted Canadian trailers still get! Enjoy the items from his collection.

What a amazing collection! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this information online. We've owned a 20' 1973 Travelux for the past 3 years, slowly redoing it and it is a wonderful trailer. It tows like a dream yet it's built like a tank. The picture of the South African Travelux is fascinating. Our geese emblems were missing when we bought the trailer, you can see their ghosts though. At some point we'll get some made. Can you tell me if the Traveluxes came with their door hinge painted blue? Ours did and I've seen others painted too. Thank you again!

Kid, You are just Awesome for posting and sharing this information. This is the first time I've seen a floor plan for the 21' with mid bathroom.
Respect,
Shawn

Hello Travelux 20. I wish I could help you out with your geese emblems. I do have duplicates of many items but that is not one of them. My Mom remembers seeing offices inside the South African trailers instead of the usual trailer configuration. I'm looking forward to doing a full interview with her and posting the details on all kinds of Travelux tidbits like this. I personally don't remember blue door hinges so I checked with Mom. She doesn't remember painted ones but does remember that at one point they covered the hinges with a vinyl like material that was blue. She says when the door was shut it laid flat across the hinge. When the door opened it angled out. I believe the vinyl she's talking about is visible in some of the above pictures. Thanks for the interest.
