Do you have a burglar alarm in your AS?

Does anyone use magnetic alarm door sensors when they go to sleep or when away from the AS? Just wondering if theft is a worry when on the road or even when in a RV park.

When sleeping we use the deadbolt/sleeping dog security system. When away, unless it's going to be above 80 degrees we use the same system. Above 80, double locks and paid up insurance. No problems so far. We also pretty much never stay anywhere that one might describe as sketchy!

Yes, I have a burglar alarm.

She weighs 52 lbs, has a big bark, very sharp teeth and is fiercely protective.

Her name is Lily.

Anyoe who tried to get in would have to get past her.

Never had a problem of any kind, tho, seriously.

I bought one of these driveway alerts that I use when stopping overnight at a Walmart or the like. I strategically place the sensor where it will trip if someone is walking around the trailer.

It's not an alarm per se, but I figured it might give me an early warning of anyone poking around.

Me too! I also use it to cover the bed of the truck when I have large items in there that prohibits the tonneau cover install.

Never had a problem while camping.

We have never used an alarm in the Airstream. We did have a small motion alarm that we used for the Honda generator. We even quit using that because it would go off when wildlife walked by.

We leave the door open when at home most of the time. We don't leave much in the trailer and I would rather them pilfer than break a window or door then pilfer. We lock the door when we are camping and usually have a gun. I suppose if I full timed in FL where the crime is higher, I would have an alarm.

None of that stuff on the road or at home.

4 paranoid, very territorial little doggies. Their barking can wake anyone, and the Tibetan Terrier sounds like a much bigger dog. He'll lick an intruder to death.

I'm also a southerner, and am appropriately equipped to defend myself...by force if necessary.

With deadbolt locked and the other lock - how would someone even get in when you are asleep? (Actual question)

Seems like it would be impossible to try and break in and not make a huge ruckus? I guess a loud alarm going off will alert others in addition to the occupants.

An alarm while you are away I suppose may scare off some person that tries to break in - our neighborhood is safe but occasionally people get cars broken into...I'm not too worried - but it could happen - it's insured

We don't have a dog capable of intimidation lol
