1979 Safari Land Yacht

Hello Everyone. I just got my 1979 Airstream today. I will be a frequent customer of these forums! I need some help. None of the lights in trailer come on except for the bathroom light. The lights in the front of the trailer work when hooked up to shore power. When I plug the unit into the shore power, I hear what I think is a converter working.
The previous owner said it may be a fuse. Any thoughts on how I access the fuse panel, where it is, and where to look to rule out a possible fuse issue?
Also, if it's not a fuse, what else could it be?
Thanks for the help....

Marc.

Welcome to the family.

You will have dozens of questions, in a short period of time.

If your going to work on the trailer yourself, something that is very handy is Airstream's "service manual".

It answers many questions and is loaded with schematics, drawings as well as "how to's".

You can order it from most any dealer.

here is a couple pictures of my old converter the fuse's were in the front. Ours is a 1972 so I'm not sure if yours is the same. I replace it with a new Intelipower from Vintage trailer supply along with a new fuse box. I'm showing a picture of the new, this is how I set it up at first. I have changed it since for a little for space.
Look in the closet on the curb side for the location of the converter at least thats where it is on the 72.
Check the bulbs and the bulb sockets to see if they are making a good connection.
