Alumalina the 2015 Spring Edition

Time to get this thing started.

The dates are set....March 27-29, 2015

Same place....Lake Wateree State Park near Winnsboro, SC

The agenda...more of the same: great friends, food, fellowship, fun.

We will have all of the usual stuff....shared meals, seminars, entertainment, open house, a whole lot of paroozing.

We will follow the same format as always, details will come later.

The Park will most certainly fill up quickly, so make your reservation soon.

Come early, stay late.

You will like it.

Maggie, can you confirm any of them so we can add them to the list and map?

Thanks. John

GCinSC2 10-20-2014 06:19 AM

Here we go again. Let's gather 'round the campfire.

sandlapper 10-20-2014 06:30 AM

Only 14 sites left...

...for the March dates. I sure hope the majority of the ones taken are Airstreamers, and that those 14 get snagged by someone in our group.

As with jm2 and Fall Alumalina, I am reluctant to name names until they are ready to go public. :)

I kmow they're coming, have had sites reserved for months, and that you know at least one of these frequent-fliers. :)

I suspect they are all lakeside.

You'll have to wait patiently, dear. :)

We would like to attend, but at this point I have no idea when or if Marie will be able to travel. We'll keep our fingers crossed if she can travel, and there will be a site open.

Good Morning John
Bonnie & I have site 17 on the books. I invited a long time friend that moved to NC a few years back, they are Mike and Joan they have site 15. They have an SOB, but are good people. Also two other trailers from the New England Unit have booked sites. Looking forward to another great SC event.

Terry, if you guys come at the last minute, you can double up with me.....there is plenty of room for your trailer and my little rig. :)

Alumalina 2015 Spring Edition Planning Post

Here are a few administrative details for Alumalina 2015 the Spring Edition.

The rally dates are March 27-29, 2015 at Lake Wateree State Park near Winsboro, South Carolina. The park is located a few miles off I77, between Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC.

First, you'll need to reserve a site directly with the park. Alumalina has become a popular rally and sites fill up fast. Better to reserve today and risk a small cancellation fee than not be able to find a site a couple of weeks before the rally. You can call the toll free reservations number (866-345-7275) or reserve a site on the reservation website. Here is a link to the park's reservation website:

Lake Wateree State Park Reservations

The rally organizers also ask you to RSVP your attendance on the Spring 2015 Alumalina RSVP page on Airforums. The rally has become so large it is difficult to keep track of who is coming, or when attendees cancel or change sites. If you'll post your plans and plan changes on the RSVP page we will be able to have an accurate count of attendees as well as be able to keep the campground map we will be posting periodically on this thread accurate. If you've already reported attendance on the Alumalina thread we ask you to also officially register with the rally on the RSVP page. Here is a link to the RSVP page. Scroll to the bottom and key in your information.

Alumalina 2015 Spring Edition RSVP Page

Finally, here is a link to the map based on the information already posted. Please feel free to PM me with any corrections. I'll be checking the RSVP page every few days and plan to update the map periodically.

Sandlapper,

Wow the Alumalina crew is on the move filling up Lake Wateree State Park camp grounds as we should. The word is out about what a good time and fellowship we have when we gather around the Alumalina famous Possum Bog on Friday night and meeting Rita on Saturday afternoon.

The added benefit is all of the great teachers who put on great classes for those who want to expand the knowledge base, either equipment repair or outdoor cooking. Thanks to all who share their knowledge.

Everyone have a safe fall & winter ..... See You Down the Road.

Florida55 to the rescue

Thank you Chuck for your administrative post. What probably took you 5 minutes would take me the rest of my life, and still wouldn't be correct.

Friends, when you see Chuck be sure to thank him for his help tying this all together. And please thank his wife Susan for sharing him with us.

This will be a great event as always. I checked my almanac and the forecast states "variable" so, maybe sunny weather? :bangin:

The weather rock should provide the accuracy we need. It didn't lie to us this fall, did it?

SeeMore 10-20-2014 12:44 PM

The rock was accurate this Fall but it indicated "cloudy" last Spring. I guess that was accurate too since rain falls from clouds.
