Fall Forums Rally 2014, Branson MO

:wally:AIR Midwest Fall Branson Rally October 24-26th, 2014:wally:

It's been a long time coming, but it is that time once again to prepare for the AIR Midwest Fall Rally. After recently moving back to Missouri, Amy and I are looking forward to hosting our first AIR Midwest rally since leaving for Texas back in 2010. We have always had an excellent turnout for Branson events and this one should be no different. Come and enjoy great people, great food, beautiful fall colors, and amazing Airstream travel trailers.

This year we are heading to Compton Ridge Campground which we have stayed for this event before. The park is in a great location for seeing shows, visiting Silver Dollar City, eating at Billy Gail's Cafe. The campground is booking us into a group of sites, so individual campsite numbers will not be available until closer to the event. Please call as soon as possible to ensure you get a site before they fill up.

I figured the faster I got this up, the better for all involved. It has been a whirlwind last three months in moving from San Antonio to Ozark, MO, but it is done now. I started back to work (in Branson no less), and look forward to spending some leisure time there. We look forward to seeing folks we havent seen in the last four years and meeting all who have joined the AIR Midwest crew since we have been gone!

do we need to call Compton's now to make reservations, or will this sign-up suffice?

soldiermedic 07-22-2014 06:42 AM

Everybody will make their own reservations because there's a deposit involved.

Hi there Soldiermedic,

The hubs and I are currently looking, and we would really enjoy "visiting" the rally to meet everyone and learn more about Airstreams. What is the protocol for visiting a rally, could you recommend a close by place to stay in a hotel or other rental, and how can we get involved?

Thanks,
Julie and Joe

Good morning,

We encourage visitors to all of our rally events... especially those interested in purchasing an Airstream who want to find out what they're all about. The campground actually rents motel rooms, but there are many places to stay in Branson and as well.

Hope you can make it!

I want to go really bad, but I am "overbooked" for rallies and trips this year. I only get 3 weeks' vacation from June 15th - June 15th. 2 rallies and a trip to Jackson Center is all I can do. Maybe next year.

Branson is on my bucket list and this is one rally I would like to attend but it is the same weekend as Fallaluminum at Georgia Mountain Fairground.

Julie and Jim,

Greetings and good luck in your search. I have also sent you a PM.

Another situation about Branson is we know someone that owns a condo up there. It is much less expensive to go in the car (25 mpg) and stay in the condo than to take the trailer (12 mpg).

But you will have much better neighbors when surrounded by Airstreamers.

Of course we would drive out to the campground and hang out all day every day of the rally-
Can't make it this year anyway. Maybe next year.

Well that is a bummer to hear. Maybe next time!

Just made reservations at Compton Ridge. Renee emphasized that we need 20 trailers to make the price break, so let's go, people! Should be a fun one...

Also, when I click on the sign up page link, it takes me to the basic menu (forums, rallies, knowledge base, community, etc.). Where exactly would I look to find the sign up page? Still haven't quite figured out the updated app yet...

m.hony 07-23-2014 01:35 PM

Man! I wish I could go.
Too many rallies, not enough time off.

Never could get the calendar and signup page to come up on the mobile app--had to go to the main site on the laptop. All signed up.

Odd...it works fine on my mobile app.

Glad you got it taken care of!

The day we all figure out how to use our phones, they'll change things up again! So long as the end result works, right?

Sounds like a conspiracy. Better put on a tin foil hat before the NSA starts monitoring your brain waves!

If we can, we will be there. I'll call in a reservation soon.

Jack (76Sovereign's better half) and I visited both Compton Ridge and Acorn Acres last week. Things are moving right along for our stay at Compton Ridge, and I will have a schedule of events that they are offering for their "Witchy weekend" soon. While at Acorn Acres, I met with the owner and explained we had wanted to go back to their park, but that we had no return communication. He apologized to us, and said that if we come back we are free to use the recreation hall free of charge with the group. Acorn acres is looking to become a great destination. They are three weeks into building a tree house cottage accessible by elevated rope bridge. They plan to have several dozen of these on the property along with an eventual canopy tour and zip lines for guests only. Glad things are looking up for them there.

Let's get a move on in our reservations folks...only six so far!
