Running refrigerator on the road

Sorry, newbie Q. Do I need to have battery in use + gas when running Refridgerator traveling down the road?

Yes if you want to keep things cold in it .

A battery or other 12 volt power source is required to operate the refrigerator control board.

Refrigerator or not you need the battery in good working order while traveling for the emergency brake system.

For what it is worth. Not all refrigerators need DC to operate. Mine works on gas or AC, no DC required.

Most of us tow with the gas on and the refrigerator running. There are a few instances where you can't do that, such as traveling through some tunnels, especially on the East Coast, but those are few and far between.

There are those that say you should definitely secure it if you pull into a gas station. I just avoid parking the trailer next to the gas pumps. So far I've exploded very few gas stations.

Enjoy the journey!
