Setting new TV

I pick up new TV net week. I am going from a2008 1500 Suburban to a 2013 2500 suburban. It has brake controller, and of course hitch. I use a reese system and at moment lift the car 2" in hitching so all is even( this is because my car is so packed and main reason I am getting the 2500.).

So how do I get the plug on and will I have to make changes to hitch height? I am in bit of panic since I am leaving right awY with new TV and AS on a business trip. I cant remember if my 1500 came with plug installed. Anyone know if hitch height will be the same and if plug comes with 2500? Thanks

If there is a towing option with the built in brake controller, it will prob have the proper wiring connector. My 2500 did. My 1500 did too because it had the tow package but did not have brake controller.

Take time. Getting off on right foot will be smart.

High height was different. Go by dealer and measure a similar one.

I cant there r only three within a 350 mile radius. They r bringing in this purchase for me. I was hoping a 2500 owner here would help me out.

If it has a hitch, it has the plug(1000X more likely then brake controller) as for hitch height if your 08 didn't have self leveling even if the hitches started at the same height the hitch would probably need to be adjusted anyway.

Bottom of hitch is 17 1/4" from concrete.

Welcome Aboard....

Sbb,

Your hitch height should be between 23 & 25" with the in bumper receiver.

It will depend on what tires are on the Burb, and whether it has the self leveling suspension, I don't believe the 2500's have it, they didn't when I worked at the Chevy store in 2009,(our 06 2500 has the Autoride suspension w/o leveling).
If you get an adjustable draw bar with a 6-8 inch drop you should be good to go.

You may have to connect the charge and blue brake wires wires in the power distribution center,(fuse box), under the hood in front of the driver. Square black box looking thingy.
The dealer should do this on the pre-delivery inspection, sometimes they have to be told your going to tow or it gets overlooked.

Good luck...Stream Safe

Mine is different

My 1500 is different than yours, my ball is closer the the receiver, plus it sits way low because of my payload. I only have one more major festival next week, then I go into vacation camping mode and car will be unloaded for good for the seAson. Next year I am going to somehow line my interior( the 2nd and 3rd row seAts are removed) to protect the inside better. It will be my winter project to design. I use a sheet of plywood on bottom now and bed risers over the bolts of the 2nd row seTs to keep everything level. Gives me great place to store lights, tablecloths and hat holders! Ton of work seting up a pop up shop 17 weekends in a Summer Season, 90% of time by myself. I drove almost 20k this Summer, but love every moment of my job. i will be back in my shop soon which I equally love.

Thanks to all, I will measure my 1500 as soon as car is empty, so I have idea where hitch needs to be in comparison to inform you have all provided. I will check to see if plug comes with receiver and let my sales guy know i need everything working. They even offered to take my middle seat out next April when I start up again. I prefer to keep my goods in TV and pull AS than to ever use hotel or drive class A and town utility trailer. I love having my cottage on wheels at end of really long days.
