Starting my solar Safari
1 Attachment(s)
My Summer travels start tomorrow morning! I will be headed out of steamy FL back to the cooler, dryer (in most cases) Pacific North West. This year's work schedule is filled with solar installations (mostly Airstreams) from Eugene to Hood River to Walla Walla to Seattle and back to Hood River.

I should be in OR at least until the end of September, when I plan to depart for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta to work there before returning to FL for another 'Snow Bird' season by Nov. 1.

If you see the big, bright Sprinter on the road with the 5 solar panels on the roof........give a wave or headlight flash! See you down the road!

Very cool, lewster!

Have a good trip with many sales, and we'll watch for you. :)

Didn't you wait until it was a little warm in Florida??!!

Have a good, safe trip!

Hood River, great place to test your sticky tape. Jim

As one of the scheduled installs, we're looking forward working with Lew and to the advantages of having solar power for those special trips where full hookups are not possible - especially at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival in October.

Safe travels Lew.. :)

When will you be near Ontario, Canada? Would love to find out how your Airstream installations work and how much it costs.

You should hitch up and follow so many of your countrymen (and women) who head to sunny, warm SW Florida for the winter. I have tons of Canadian clients during 'season'.

Shoot me a PM if you would like to discuss solar for your rig. In the interim, I might suggest a little reading at AM Solar's web site: Welcome to AM Solar_Your RV Solar Specialists since 1987 :D

And thanks folks! I'm sure that some of the owners will be posting details of the stay tuned!:D

Hey Pat,

Sorry, but I'm already in Slidell, LA off !-12 for the evening's stop after leaving Naples at about 9:00 this morning. Crossing the Gulf States up to Shreveport, then over Dallas up to Amarillo, Durango via ABQ and then on in to Hood River on I-84 thru Salt Lake and Boise.

Should touch down late Sat. barring any 'un foreseens'...........

Will do Kip!

Currently in Amarillo. Was so hungry when I got off the road, that I almost went for one of those 'free' 72 ounce steaks!!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

And they even send a free limo for you. Wonder what you have to buy to get the steak for 'free'?

That's enough food for me for a week!!!!! And at 3 meals a day too!

Durango tomorrow. Just a walk in the park of 500 or so miles after today's 875 mile marathon. So good! :D

Well, I recognize those panels, Lewster. They look EXACTLY like the 4 I put on my trailer a month or so ago! Have a great trip and 875 miles! Really? I did that junk when I was in college. These days when I'm towing a hit 350 (maybe)...

lewster 08-08-2013 04:58 PM

Yep, I like to cruise when I hit the road! Today was a light day, only 500 miles from Amarillo to Durango. Tomorrow is another big day, probably 800+. That will bring me within 300 miles of Hood River for a walk in the park for a Saturday arrival.

LOVE the GS-100 panels. Most of the installations that I am doing are getting them. Only exceptions are the 3 SOBs that have literally acres of roof space compared to Airstreams. They are getting the GO-150 watt panels.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 03:16 PM.
