Took a quick trip last weekend to Arroyo Grande/Pismo Beach area. Stopped at Laetitia Winery to pick up wine club bottles and extra bottles of Port for Abq Balloon Fiesta. Decided at the last minute to see if we could just show up at Jalama now that it's past Labor Day - what luck! Scored awesome view in Sp 113 - got there in time for sunset Saturday. Enjoyed our fresh bottle of pinot noir and the ocean sounds lulled us to sleep. Long walk on the beach in the morning, followed by a Jalama burger...

Woke Friday morning to clouds and cold temperature - I know, 50 is not bad, but we are spoiled Californians! Knowing it was going to rain all day Saturday didn't deter us. 4 hours later, we were at camp - what a pleasant surprise! Beautiful, wide, full hook-ups, against a hill so the view was a beautiful, quiet, serene desert vista. We walked, explored different hiking and off-road trails. Took off Thursday morning for Ventura - easy drive. Imagine our surprise when we found another Airstream parked right behind us. Nice Arizona couple with their grandson visiting CA for the month of July. Loved the location of Emma Wood - easy walk or bike ride to town, ocean lulled us to sleep every night.
