    John,

It's been a while since I've checked this site, so I just saw your message by accident! Got an email today from a 370LE MoHo owner who's dealing with his insurance company. Hail storm damaged his vehicle and they want to total it for 25K. He was asking me how much I sold mine for, when I sold it, and other information to help him deal with his insurance. Anyway, I was looking around this site when I saw your message.

First, the 32S, if that is indeed what your neighbor's daughter has, began production in 1986, and lasted until the end of Avion manufacturing in 1990. Point is that if it is a 32S, it's newer than '83. Price sounds very good, assuming it's in good shape. The 32S had a front kitchen, and was the only Avion to ever have that. Nice trailer, and one of the few models to come with a rear bedroom. Some had double beds, and some had twins.

No matter how good a unit looks, you can be sure you will find things that need work after you buy. No big deal, if you are fairly handy. I like to find models that have a full set of window awnings, since they are very pricey if you add them now. Check any used Avion for leaks by very carefully checking for any soft spots all the way around the outer walls of the inside of the trailer for soft spots. Not a FATAL flaw, but floor repair is not easy. Leaks are not fatal, and can always be located and repaired, but a rotted floor is a nightmare to repair. Other than that I look for the usual things. Clean stoves, refrigerators, lack of musty odors, general cleanliness, operate everything. No used rig is perfect, and you can usually bargain if you do find a problem area. The front rock guards tended to be a problem as the trailers get older, so look for cracks in the fiberglass. They can be repaired, or even replaced, but that is something to look at.

Hope this helps a little. Best wishes on your search, and let me know how this goes.

    Best,

    Tim
