Cleaning up messages and found your question on valve stems. Looks like I might have missed it. Yes I strongly recommend metal bolt in valve stems with the use of TPMS. The Dill 902 seem to work well on Airstream aluminum wheels with the recessed hole. 2 related items. Be sure the valve stem nuts are snug but not over tight. A hand wrench not a 12" ratchet would be the preferred tool as you only n225 25 - 45 INCH-POUNDS. Second minor point. The bolt in stems are plated brass not steel

    Tireman9 -

I have a 2019 International Signature 23CB with OEM rims/valve stems and GYE 225/75R15 tires. I purchased a TST-507-RV-4-C system and installed it before our last trip. We have suffered a catastrophic blow out before and thoroughly enjoyed the peace of mind the TPMS provided us for 1890 miles. At that time, the alarm went off and we have a very quick deflation on one of our tires. I got to the side of the road as soon as possible and could not see any obvious damage. I attached a compressor and soon the tire was up to 80 psi without any obvious hissing or air leaks until i touched the valve stem to take the compressor off. I could twist it and turn it and air would leak out - obviously my problem .

Is this the type of failure related to TPMS and steel valves with rubber bases? If I am going to continue using the TPMS, should I switch all my tires to all steel, bolt in valves?

Do you still recommend the Dill 902-W's?

Thank you so much for your opinion.

    Dave
