Hi Victoria, I always feel better with reservations, but that's just me. Its a lovely place and Loft Mtn is just as nice as Big Meadows, the computerized reservation system gives you a good idea of what to look for in terms of size. Happy Camping!!

I read your post about camping at Big Meadows in Shenoadoah National Park and found it to be very helpful We are planning to visit the park in early October. Do you have any advice about making reservations? Is this park a good spot to stay a few nights & explore the area? Did you camp other places on the Blue Ridge Parkway? We have a 30' trailer...so I would appreciate any advice Thank you!

We are enjoying our cross country trip w/our safari..made it all the way to N.Y. and Canada and are on our way back (leisurely) to CA..
