Never been there, on my list. A few of my friends rave about the paddling there, they say it's easy to get around and the paddling community there is first class. enjoy it,

Hey Margo....I prefer boondocking! However, we have solar panels.... I DID get the sandwich book, and I have spent some time reading the Cast iron Cooking for Dummies book. We have been busy since Casini....flew to Seattle to visit our son, Kevin, and his gf, then returned to prepare for our 5-day camping trip (w/o the Airstream) to Yosemite....got back on Friday afternoon. I am still getting stuff cleaned up and put away! I SWEAR, it was 10x more work getting ready for that trip than it is for a 3-week trip in the Airstream...and, I still forgot stuff!!!! We stayed in the Housekeeping Camp, with tent cabins and electricity....we had a good time. It was good seeing my cousin and seeing her daughter, who is now 9 years old....I got to teach her how to prepare for and light a campfire, using just one match!
Soooooooo, where did you go to camp in the woods? Did the parrots stay at home? ;-) I cannot imagine it being quiet if they were along...LOL! Just teasing, I hope you know.

There are TONS of photos on the 2011 Jackson Rally thread! I don't even bother posting my photos on the AirForums....I rarely take people pics, and that is what most folks want to see, methinks

It was good to see you and Jane and the menagerie! I was thinking yesterday...we never even talked cast iron ONCE....but, I am definitely going to order that sandwich book.

    Cheers, Dee

Nope....you want to go into Death Valley from the south end when towing the 'stream, for sure! I am sick of the rain, too....not sure I am ready for 90-degree heat yet, though.

Once this move is over, you two need to go on vacation!!! Another one of the recipes from "the book" that we liked was Skillet Scallion Biscuits....designed for the Lodge cast iron 10-1/4" frying pan. We have had the biscuits with most of the main dishes we have tried.

Glad to hear the piano survived the move!

I LOVE those take-charge types!!!! That way, you are just along for the ride! How is Jane planning to occupy herself when the move is over?

Glad to hear your floors turned out nice....

Hey Margo, how was the trip home? Have you purchased the Ridgaway book, Cast Iron Cooking, yet? I remembered another recipe we tried....on page 106....Beef Burgundy Stew! We used some cheap burgundy wine (made by Carlo Rossi, as I recall), added another carrot (I plan to put even more next time), and left out one of the mushrooms, since we couldn't find it at Whole Foods (which has a pretty good mushroom selection). At any rate, this stew was excellent....I think we had 3 meals from it. I really didn't think it would be much different than any other stew with wine in it...but, I was wrong! Make sure you try this one next fall....it's rich and hearty! I think I combined a tablespoon of melted butter with two of flour, and added this toward the end to thicken the gravy a little, too....I can never leave well enough alone :P

We are currently at Westside Regional Park, along Bodega Bay....this afternoon is windy, but that is what Spring is all about on the coast! I never even bought a fishing license, so no fishing for me. We manage to fill our days with dog-walking, bird-watching, and Airstream-cleaning. Bailey managed to surprise a skunk one night, just as we stepped out the door....fortunately, the skunk missed, but some of the spray wafted its way into the Airstream!
