Phoenix- I'm fighting the battery drain issue while my AS is in storage and saw your long ago postings on the install of the marine isolator switch. However your install instruction post no long displays the photos that illustrated the install (I assume that your original linked to photo site is no longer available).

Do you still have the instructions in a PDF that you were offering up for email distribution? If so, can you send a copy to kddukes@Bellsouth.net?

Would be appreciated and helpful. Tks

Phoenix, the problem is, the fan never comes on when running the frig on electricity. So I don't know if it is the switch or fan, or both???

I just saw your "Thanks" regarding the Towing post (Driving on Steep Mountain Grades) ... excellent post, so thanks for sharing. I wish you would hyperlink it into the thread so it's there for everyone else to see! Thanks for making time to share! Sincerely, Rich

I was being facetious about the needle on a hard drive.

The 5.7L Tundra pulls my 30 footer fine on the interstate when flat. If I am not paying attention it can creep up to 75-80mph once up to speed. It is the steep grades, mountain passes, etc. I drove the 30' and Tundra from MD to NV last year and from MD to AZ this year. Some of the steep highway grades I could only maintain 45 mph uphill which doesn't bother me too much, it is going down those steep grades that can be scary. I would often have to drop down to 2nd gear and still hit the brakes. One downhill caught me off guard this summer and scared the crap out of me. I thought about upgrading the brakes, but my cousin just became the General Manager of a Ford dealer in VA and I am picking my a F250 diesel this weekend. With the Powerstroke I should be able to maintain highway speeds uphill and use the diesel brake to maintain a nice controlled descent. Life is too short to worry.

Finally got my butt in gear and bought 5 Michelin 225/75R16 XPS Ribs, 4 16" Sendel rims and a Steel 16" rim for the spare, Centramatics, McGard lugs and a TST TPMS system. I did a couple of quick "shake down runs" last weekend and will be heading out on a Mississippi to Adirondack (New York State) round trip this weekend. Hopefully, I've made the tires and running gear as safe as I can for my '14 27FB Classic. Thanks for all your advice on the XPS Rib tires!

Thanks for the heads up, Phoenix. He seems like such the expert and confusing, for sure. I like LT tires on my Airstream and they're staying. Best Wishes and Safe Travels. Martian

Hi PHX, thanks for the support, and oh yeah, people get all riled up about WD and Sway. My wife and I towed our Bambi from Utah to So Cal 'naked' and it was great. Huge traffic jam/accident in Primm and it felt like pulling a moto trailer the whole way....just great. Loved your story about the blowout in AZ, I blew an old tire on our moto trailer on a friday night near Cedar City Utah on tires I should have replaced years ago. Anyway, safe travels, Dr. Jon
