    Hi Pam,

Yes, I mean a sway control hitch is the more correct term.

    Hi Pam,

You're the first person I have had a question from. I towed it my 19 Bambi from Iowa to Washington state last summer. My Tacoma is also a 2016 V6 with tow package. The biggest issue is the tongue weight. Your truck is good at 630 pounds. I highly recommend that you get a stabilizer towing unit. You will need it traveling on the freeway. If a big semi speeds past you your trailer can sway. Very scary. After I added the stabilizer I still think you need brakes to the truck. Last year Toyota had not made a harness for 2016. I am going to find one this year before I leave on a long trip. You can tow without the trailer brakes but it isn't as safe. You will have no problems towing up mountains, on very steep passes you may have to drive at around 35 mph but it easily will take on any elevation you throw at it it. Let me know how you get along and if you find a 2016 brake harness. Best of luck.
