Nortontex, you'll do just fine with the 35D. Mine is a 2001 4.4i gas with Sport Package which includes low profile 255/19" front and 285/19" rear tires, stiffer suspension and more rear wheel camber. I also have Dinan engine/transmission software and throttle body which allows for ~300 hp and ~350#' of torque. Make sure you use the OEM BMW hitch which interfaces with the X5 electronics. If you have the $$$$ opt for either a Hensley or ProPride hitch interface which ABSOLUTELY negates sway without friction. Currently have 109K+ miles of which 35K have pulled my 31' ASCL with a GVWR of 8,300#. Call me (Dave Withington) @ 832-687-4833 if you wish to discuss. Also, search on "withidl" for many post on my assembly.
