Hi, Norm, I bought a 1959 Overlander in 2006, did a "full Monty" on it so we could live in it outside Marta, Texas, while my husband built a home for some folks on a huge ranch.
Since, then, the changes I've made have been for the purpose of making long-term camping, including boondocking, possible.
I had gotten the original reefer working for a long time, but the Klixon valve finally died, so I got a new Norco that fits almost perfectly. I'd like to put in a large aluminum chimney above it such as you did. Do you by any chance have any dimensions drawings of the one you made? Or close-up pics of details? Also, did you use anything to insulate it?
    Thanks for any input!

    Hi nmbosa,
I'm thinking of buying an airstream in the next year. I was hoping to find someone to consult me on the process of buying a '60s '25ish trailer. I know it will involve refurbishing and that's most of the fun for me. Eventually, I want to use the airstream as my full-time home. I foresee a meeting to talk over the costs involved in changing a title and taxes. How to set it up in a friends backyard so we don't blow the fuses. And have someone to come with me to inspect the trailer before I purchase it and to haul the trailer back to Seattle; I don't own a vehicle at this time. I'm happy to pay for your time and travel. If you have any recommendations of someone else I should contact. I would appreciate any suggestions you might offer.

    Thanks,
    Shannon Hickman

    Norm-

Are you available for an inspection any time this week or the beginning of next? We are looking at renovating a '74 31' Airstream Sovereign. Here is the ad: Vintage Airstream Sovereign trailer
This would be our first airstream/renovation. I just want someone who is knowledgeable about airstreams to take a look at it. We are willing to pay.

    Hi --

I am thinking about purchasing a 1966 Overlander in N. Seattle to use as a shop on the WA coast where I have a small business. Would you/could I hire you do do an inspection in the next couple of days? I live in N. Seattle as well and am close to purchasing one close by but being a complete novice would like someone's opinion on how difficult or costly it would be to have or reseal the roof vents myself as there are a few small leaks and the hatches aren't in the best shape and there is a window leak as well. Since it can really blow and pour out at the coast I'd like to make sure I can start out water tight.

    Thanks--

    Christine

    Norm,

It is in Bellevue right off 405. I'd be more than happy to pay your going rate for inspections, etc. It is my first trailer purchase, so my first airstream purchase

I'm pulling it with my 04 tundra v8...so I'd really like to help connecting it, etc. Assuming no major problems. I'm attaching the video so you can see what it looks like from my first visit:

    Thanks so much!

    Hey there,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 1974 airstream souverign this saturday. Would you be available to come with me and do a prepurchase inspection? It is in pretty good condition based on initial inspection, but I would like someone who knows more to help me test the major systems (ac, fridge, propane, generator, etc).

    Thanks!
    Leo

Hi-- I have that onion skin light all boxed up for you, can mail it to you if you give my your address. Would ask for the postage costs only....I'll send it the cheapest way I can, but if you want to upgrade to air frieght then let me know and let me know your top dollar cost too in case it is ridiculously expensive
