    (Read my other entry first)
    contd...

Have you found a specific trailer yet? What age trailer are you after?
Are you aiming to import yourself or are you intending to get someone else to import for you? or find one in the UK already? I'd recommend the latter unless you're experienced in the process.

This forum is quite good for info but it takes hours and hours to sift through... and it can be a bit daunting with so many detailed accounts and difficult works.

If I had one piece of advice it would be to see the trailer first or have it looked at by someone you trust, who knows what they're looking at (there are a few rogues out there who will sell scrap).

Send me a link to the trailer - if you have a specific one in mind. We're away for a week from tomorrow though, so if you want a quick response better be tonight.

    Cheers
    Dave

Hi Tim, depends to an extent on what your plans are. 29' is quite big - is it for commercial use or domestic? I've seen a couple of pretty rough projects get transformed into very luxurious, contemporary trailers but at quite high cost (2,000+ per linear foot).

If you're doing a full-blooded, shell-off rebuild like me then (at least in theory) you can be less fussy as it will all be looked at and fixed - at a cost. If however, you prefer to do minimal works then your selection gets more critical - you must be aware that most AS need remedial works (I've even heard new ones leak). But don''t be put off, virtually anything can be fixed as long as the chassis is straight but leaks can be hard to trace and create havoc over time.

    ...contd
